The KCBC Mission
To engage and educate individuals to take greater responsibility for enhancing beautification, protecting the environment, and eliminating litter and blight.
Our Vision
The Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission encourages individuals to take responsibility towards our community and the environment. We believe that everyone has the right to care for their community. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender expression, age, or physical or mental ability in any of our activities or operations.
The 80s
1983 - A Litter Campaign gains momentum. Community volunteers come together to prioritize recycling and enhance local beautification efforts.
The 90s
1993 - The city begins running into Solid Waste Issues RCRA, EPA and EPD. Causing concern for Community Safety, Health,
and Welfare.
The 00s
2002 - KCBC joined Trees Columbus, Inc. to strengthen the
tree ordinance
The 10s
2011 - KCBC and Columbus Water Works co-sponsored the first community-wide “grease and over-the-counter/prescription drugs” recycle
The 20s
2024 - KCBC is awarded the Presidential Circle Award from Keep America Beautiful for the first time!
