MLK Serve-A-Thon
January
Each year, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by joining forces with community partners, including Trees Columbus, for a day of service. Together, we plant trees and lead a community cleanup, fostering unity and environmental stewardship in Dr. King's memory.
Arbor Day - Celebration of Trees
February
The annual Arbor Day celebration, is a day dedicated to planting trees and promoting environmental stewardship! In partnership with Trees Columbus and other local organizations, we invite the community to plant trees, receive free tree seedlings, and enjoy food, music, and educational activities with local environmental groups.


KCBC Annual Awards

Each year, KCBC honors organizations, businesses, schools, teachers, students, and individuals who are making a difference in Columbus through outstanding sustainability and beautification efforts. This event celebrates their dedication and impact, inspiring a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant community!

FREE Community Paper Shred Drive Thru Event

Every spring and fall, KCBC partners with local shredding companies like River Mill Data Management or Shred-A-Way to offer a free, secure way for the community to dispose of household paper. Drive through, drop off your documents, and help promote recycling!
Free Hazardous Household Waste and Electronic Recycle

Each year, KCBC partners with Columbus Public Works and Columbus Recycle to provide the community with a safe and convenient way to dispose of hazardous household waste and recycle electronics. Join us in reducing environmental impact and promoting responsible waste management!


Shoe Recycle Campaign
Fall - Winter
Every year, over 350 million pairs of shoes end up in landfills, where they can take over 1,000 years to decompose. To reduce waste and give shoes a second life, we collect and recycle them by sending them to developing countries in need annually—helping our community and the environment one step at a time!
Annual Mayor's Golf Tournament
September
Tee up for a great cause at our annual golf tournament! Enjoy a day on the course, compete for prizes, and support KCBC’s mission and programs to keep our community clean, green, and beautiful.
